Anita is portrayed as kind-hearted, gentle, and loving, with a strong bond to her dog, Perdita, and a deep affection for the puppies. Throughout the film, Anita becomes a central figure in the battle to protect the Dalmatian puppies from the villainous Cruella de Vil, who seeks to capture them for their fur.

In the original 1961 animated film, Anita is voiced by actress Lisa Davis. Anita also appears in the live-action adaptations of the story, including the 1996 version of 101 Dalmatians, where she is portrayed by Joely Richardson.
