Who is Aquata?

Aquata is one of Ariel’s sisters in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. She is one of King Triton’s seven daughters, known as the “daughters of Triton,” who are part of the royal family in Atlantica, the underwater kingdom.

Aquata is typically depicted with blue or teal fins and wears a matching seashell bra. As Ariel’s sister, Aquata is known for being the more responsible and sometimes anxious sibling, but like the rest of her sisters, she cares deeply for Ariel and their family.

While she doesn’t have a prominent role in the original The Little Mermaid movie, Aquata appears in various The Little Mermaid media, including the TV series and direct-to-video sequels, where she sometimes has more dialogue and interactions with her sisters.

In the original 1989 The Little Mermaid animated film, Aquata was voiced by actress Sherry Lynn. Additionally, in The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning (2008), the character is voiced by Kari Wahlgren.
