Who is Bentina Beakley?

Bentina Beakley is a key character in the “DuckTales” animated series, both in its original 1987 version and its 2017 reboot. She serves as the housekeeper and caretaker for Scrooge McDuck’s mansion, but her role extends beyond that, as she is also the grandmother of Webby Vanderquack, one of the main characters.

In the original 1987 series, Mrs. Beakley is portrayed as a kind, motherly figure who is responsible for taking care of Scrooge’s nephews (Huey, Dewey, and Louie) and Webby. Her character is typically depicted as reserved and soft-spoken, with a focus on housekeeping and looking after the children.

In the 2017 reboot, however, Mrs. Beakley’s character is reimagined with a more adventurous and formidable personality. In addition to being a housekeeper, she is revealed to have a background as an intelligence agent, making her a much more dynamic character. She is highly protective of Webby and serves as a mentor to her, teaching her valuable life skills, including combat and survival tactics.

Bentina Beakley is voiced by Joan Gerber in the original series and in the reboot she is voiced by Toks Olagundoye.
