Who is Chien-Po?
Chien-Po is a character from Disney’s animated film Mulan. He is one of Mulan’s three companions in the army, alongside Yao and Ling.
Known for his large, gentle nature, Chien-Po is the kind-hearted and soft-spoken member of the group. Despite his imposing size and strength, he has a calm and peaceful demeanor, often diffusing tension between his friends and acting as a source of warmth and humor. Chien-Po loves food, which is a recurring and endearing trait throughout the film.
In the original 1998 Mulan, Chien-Po is voiced by Jerry Tondo, whose vocal performance captures the character’s gentle, easygoing nature. Chien-Po’s friendship with Mulan and his loyalty to his comrades highlight his depth beyond mere physical strength.
