Who is Gil?
Gil is a character from Disney’s Descendants film series, appearing as a supporting character in Descendants 2 and Descendants 3. He is one of the “VKs” (Villain Kids) and the son of Gaston, the boastful villain from Beauty and the Beast.
Unlike his father, Gil is portrayed as friendly, naive, and more innocent than one might expect from the offspring of such a notorious villain. He possesses a charming, dim-witted personality, often depicted as loyal and eager to please, particularly with his friends. Despite his intimidating physical strength, Gil lacks the aggressive ambition of his father, which gives his character an endearing quality and adds a playful dynamic to the group of VKs.
In Descendants 2, Gil teams up with Uma, the daughter of Ursula, and Harry Hook, the son of Captain Hook, as part of their plan to take on Mal and her friends. His character continues to evolve in Descendants 3, where he shows more loyalty to his friends and even forms an alliance with the main VKs from Auradon, softening and breaking away from his villainous roots.
Dylan Playfair, a Canadian actor known for roles in shows like Letterkenny, portrays Gil.
