Horace & Jasper (One Hundred and One Dalmatians)

Who are Horace & Jasper?

Horace and Jasper Badun are bumbling, comedic villains in Disney’s One Hundred and One Dalmatians, both the 1961 animated classic and its live-action adaptations.

Horace & Jasper (One Hundred and One Dalmatians)

Employed by the sinister Cruella de Vil, the duo is tasked with kidnapping and guarding the Dalmatian puppies Cruella needs to make her infamous spotted fur coat. Horace, the shorter and rounder of the two, is often depicted as slightly more intelligent, if only marginally so, while Jasper, taller and leaner, tends to be bossier and prone to roughing up Horace. Despite their dark intentions, they are generally portrayed with a slapstick humor that adds a lighthearted element to the film’s suspense.

In the original 1961 animated film, Horace and Jasper were voiced by actors J. Pat O’Malley (Jasper) and Frederick Worlock (Horace). The live-action version released in 1996 brought a fresh take to these characters, played by Mark Williams (Horace) and Hugh Laurie (Jasper).
