Who is Li Shang?

Li Shang is a fictional character from the 1998 Disney animated film “Mulan.” He is a captain in the Chinese army and the love interest of the film’s main character, Mulan.

Li Shang is tasked with leading a group of soldiers to defend China against the invasion of the Huns, and is initially skeptical of Mulan’s abilities when she disguises herself as a man to join the army.

Over the course of the film, he comes to respect and admire Mulan’s courage and skill, and ultimately helps her save China and defeat the Huns. The character is voiced by actor BD Wong in the film.
