Who is Maurice?
Maurice is a character in the Disney animated film “Beauty and the Beast.” He is the father of Belle, the film’s main character, and is a kind-hearted inventor who lives in a small village in France. In the film, Maurice becomes lost in the forest while on his way to the market to show off his latest invention. He stumbles upon the enchanted castle of the Beast, where he is held captive. Belle sets out to find him and eventually makes a deal with the Beast to take her father’s place. Throughout the film, Maurice serves as a reminder of Belle’s love for her family and her desire to protect them, and his character is an important part of the film’s central themes of love and sacrifice.
