Who is Oaken?
Oaken is a delightful and memorable character from Disney’s Frozen franchise, first introduced in the original 2013 film.
Known for his jovial personality and thick Scandinavian accent, Oaken is the friendly proprietor of the Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna. Nestled in the snowy mountains of Arendelle, the shop is a convenient pit stop for travelers needing supplies or a moment of warmth. Oaken’s humor and unique charm are highlighted in his interactions with Anna and Kristoff. His cheerful exclamation, “Yoo-hoo! Big summer blowout!” has become a fan-favorite line.
Oaken is also surprisingly resourceful and kind-hearted. While haggling over the price of goods with Anna, he showcases his savvy business sense, and his genuine warmth shines through when he offers her discounted winter gear. Though his role in the story is small, his humorous and kind demeanor adds a lighthearted touch to the film’s tension-filled moments.
The character of Oaken is voiced by Chris Williams, a talented animator, screenwriter, and director who worked on multiple Disney projects, including Big Hero 6.
