Who is Drax the Destroyer?

Drax the Destroyer is a fierce and formidable character in Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He was created by writer and artist Jim Starlin and first appeared in “Iron Man” #55 in 1973.

In the comics, Drax’s original identity was Arthur Douglas, a human whose family was killed by the supervillain Thanos. Seeking revenge, Arthur’s consciousness was placed in a powerful new body by the cosmic entity Kronos, transforming him into Drax the Destroyer.
