Monsters Funday FootballESPN is scaring up something special this holiday season with the return of its beloved animated football broadcast-this time diving into the monstrous world of Pixar. “Boo! Monsters Funday Football” will air on Sunday, December 8, showcasing a unique, animated version of the NFL matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Chargers. The game will unfold inside a fully animated universe inspired by Monsters, Inc., bringing iconic characters like Mike Wazowski, Sulley, and Boo to the gridiron.

This marks the third installment in ESPN’s alternate “Funday Football” series, following previous broadcasts set in the Toy Story and Frozen franchises. The broadcast will use state-of-the-art animation technology to recreate real-time NFL gameplay within the whimsical and colorful world of Monstropolis.

Presented by ESPN, ESPN+, and Disney+, this family-friendly experience is designed to engage younger audiences while still delivering the excitement of professional football. The action will be brought to life using player tracking data from NFL’s Next Gen Stats, and viewers can expect fun commentary, interactive graphics, and surprise appearances from Monsters, Inc. characters throughout the game.
