Disney is set to bring its 2010 animated classic “Tangled” to life in a live-action adaptation. Michael Gracey, renowned for directing “The Greatest Showman,” is in discussions to helm the project. The screenplay is being crafted by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, whose notable works include “Do Revenge” and contributions to “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
The original “Tangled” film, inspired by the Brothers Grimm tale of Rapunzel, featured Mandy Moore as the voice of the long-haired princess and Zachary Levi as the charming thief, Flynn Rider. The movie was celebrated for its engaging storytelling and memorable music, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song with “I See the Light.”
As of now, casting decisions for the live-action version remain under wraps. However, fans have actively speculated on potential actors for the lead roles, with names like Florence Pugh and Timothée Chalamet frequently mentioned.
Zachary Levi, the original voice of Flynn Rider, has expressed enthusiasm about the remake and even suggested making a cameo appearance alongside Mandy Moore.
This adaptation continues Disney’s trend of reimagining its animated classics, following recent live-action releases such as “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin.” While the project is in its early stages, anticipation is building among fans eager to see how the beloved tale of Rapunzel will be translated into a new, live-action format.
