Tortuga Tavern Reopens as a Restaurant Today!

Published on 1/1/25 by Craig Smith

Tortuga Tavern (Disney World)After a closure since June 2024, Tortuga Tavern in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland has reopened as a quick-service dining location. The restaurant welcomes guests daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering American-style fare such as Barbecued Pork Sandwiches.

During its closure, Tortuga Tavern temporarily operated as “Tortuga Treasures,” a retail space accommodating guests while the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the Pirates of the Caribbean exit gift shop, underwent refurbishment. Additionally, Captain Jack Sparrow’s meet-and-greet was relocated to the tavern during this period.

The reopening of Tortuga Tavern coincides with ongoing construction of a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge in the former Pirates League area. This upcoming venue, slated to open in late 2025, aims to expand the lore of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and will reintroduce Peg-Leg Pete, the Barker Bird once stationed outside the ride.

Guests can now enjoy Tortuga Tavern’s offerings once more, adding to the diverse dining experiences available in Adventureland.

Update:  Just kidding I guess. Tortuga Tavern’s webpage had operating hours for January 1st and now doesn’t. There are now no operating hours listed through the beginning of March, which is the furthest that the availability calendar goes out to on the Disney World website. Stay tuned and I’ll post any new updates for the restaurant as they are announced.
