Who is Emperor Palpatine?
Emperor Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious, is a character in the Star Wars franchise. He is the primary antagonist of the prequel trilogy and is one of the most iconic villains in the Star Wars universe. Emperor Palpatine is the Sith Lord who serves as the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic and later, as the Emperor of the Galactic Empire. He is depicted as being a master manipulator and a cunning politician, who uses his power and influence to control the galaxy. He is also a powerful Force user and is known for his mastery of the dark side of the Force. Emperor Palpatine is portrayed by actor Ian McDiarmid in the films.
