Sven is the heart and “voice” (via Kristoff) of the Frozen franchise. As the most loyal reindeer in Arendelle, Sven has evolved from an ice-pulling companion into a beloved member of the royal family, famously proving that “reindeer(s) are better than people.”
EPCOT News: A “Fresh” Look for Sven’s Friends (2026)
While Sven himself remains a masterpiece of mechanical animation, his human friends are getting a major upgrade. Frozen Ever After at EPCOT reopens on February 12, 2026, following a brief closure to replace the original “projection-face” animatronics. While the Sven figure remains the same lovable reindeer we know, the updated lighting and refreshed sets throughout the attraction make his scenes—especially the “Reindeer(s) are Better Than People” moment—vibrate with new life.
World of Frozen: Coming March 29, 2026
In Europe, the countdown is on for the opening of World of Frozen at the newly renamed Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) in Paris. Starting March 29, 2026, guests can see Sven in a brand-new iteration of the Frozen Ever After attraction and spot him during the “A Celebration in Arendelle” lagoon show, where next-generation robotics bring the reindeer and Olaf to life like never before.
Frozen 3 & 4: The Journey Continues
In February 2026, production on Frozen 3 (slated for November 24, 2027) is officially in high gear. With Jonathan Groff returning as Kristoff, fans can expect plenty more “Sven-speak.” Reports suggest the story for the third and fourth films is so large it will span two movies, potentially exploring the deeper origins of the characters in the Northuldra forest.
Where to Find Sven in 2026
- EPCOT (Norway Pavilion): See him in multiple scenes within Frozen Ever After, reopening Feb 12 with enhanced lighting and effects.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: While Sven doesn’t appear “live” on stage, he is a central part of the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration through hilarious on-screen cameos.
- Disneyland Resort: Look for Sven as a featured animatronic in the Storybook Land Canal Boats, where the miniature kingdom of Arendelle is nestled in the hills.
