Disney Afternoon Collection Finally Headed to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 With Two Extra Games

Published on 1/28/26 by Craig Smith

After years of fan requests, The Disney Afternoon Collection is officially coming to Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, with an expanded lineup of classic adventures. The compilation, originally released in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, gathers Capcom’s NES titles based on the beloved Disney Afternoon block: DuckTales, DuckTales 2, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck.

The new Nintendo release adds two SNES-era cult favorites that were not included in the original package: Goof Troop and Bonkers. Both titles have been difficult to access legally for years, making their inclusion a notable draw for collectors and ’90s Disney fans alike.

According to new eShop listings and accompanying descriptions, the Switch and Switch 2 versions retain the modern quality-of-life features introduced in 2017, including quick save and rewind functionality, as well as Boss Rush and Time Attack modes with online leaderboards, though these challenge modes do not apply to Goof Troop and Bonkers.

The Disney Afternoon Collection is slated to launch on both Nintendo systems on February 26, 2026, giving longtime fans of the animated block – and newcomers discovering it for the first time – a chance to revisit eight classic platformers in one package. Pricing for regions outside Japan has not yet been fully detailed, but the eShop listing confirms the collection as a single bundled release for both consoles.
