So there you go- 5 overlooked Disney movies that you will thank me after giving a watch this weekend. You will notice a pattern as all of these movies were released during one of Disney animation’s two biggest down periods- the mid 80’s and the early 00’s (coincidentally, this was pretty much before and after Jeffrey Katzenberg’s tenure, but that’s a tangent for another day). I’d strongly argue that these movies got a bad rap due to timing. Whether it be a shift in moviegoer preference in the 80s or a super competitive playing field with Pixar and DreamWorks shaving off market share in the early 00’s, there are reasons beyond Disney’s control that these films were not box office hits. That should not deter you from checking them out. You will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of these movies.

Whether you’re looking for action, adventure, or just a good laugh, these movies are sure to entertain you and your family. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some of Disney’s hidden gems.
