Who is Nemo?

Nemo is the titular character of Disney-Pixar’s 2003 animated film Finding Nemo. He is a young clownfish who lives with his overprotective father, Marlin, in the Great Barrier Reef.

Nemo has a smaller, weaker fin, often referred to as his “lucky fin,” which makes Marlin extra cautious about his safety. Despite his father’s overbearing nature, Nemo is curious, adventurous, and eager to prove his independence. This desire leads him to venture into open water, where he is captured by a scuba diver and placed in a dentist’s fish tank in Sydney. The story follows Marlin and a forgetful blue tang named Dory as they embark on an epic journey to rescue Nemo.

Nemo’s character is central to the themes of family, bravery, and personal growth in the film. While he is initially frustrated by his father’s overprotection, their experiences bring them closer and help both characters grow—Marlin learns to trust, and Nemo gains confidence in his abilities.

Nemo was voiced by Alexander Gould, a child actor who brought warmth and charm to the character.
