Who is Scrooge McDuck?

Scrooge McDuck is a fictional character created by Carl Barks in 1947. He is a wealthy Scottish-American businessman, entrepreneur, and the uncle of Donald Duck. He is one of the main characters in Disney comics and is known for his love of money, his catchphrase “What’s the big idea?” and his iconic “Money Bin”. He is often depicted as a wealthy, shrewd and sometimes greedy businessman, but also portrayed as a kind-hearted and adventurous person. He is one of the most popular Disney characters and has appeared in various forms of media such as comic books, TV shows and video games.

He was originally voiced by Dallas McKennon, who is probably most known as the ‘Wildest Ride in the Wilderness’ announcer on Big Thunder Mountain. Arguably Scrooge’s most famous voice came from Alan Young, who is was also Wilbur Post in TV’s Mr. Ed.
