The Monsanto House of the Future was an attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim, California that was sponsored by the Monsanto Company. It was located in Tomorrowland and was open from 1957 to 1967.
The attraction was designed to showcase the “home of the future” and how technology and new materials could be used to create a more efficient and comfortable living space. The house was built using materials such as plastic and was designed to be modular and easily changeable.
Inside the house, guests could see various innovative features such as a microwave oven, push-button controls for lights and appliances, and a home entertainment system with a television and stereo. The house also had a central air conditioning system and was designed to be energy-efficient.
The Monsanto House of the Future was a popular attraction during its time, and many people were fascinated by the futuristic design and the idea of a “smart home” that could be controlled with the push of a button. However, the attraction was eventually closed in 1967 to make way for a new Tomorrowland redesign. The house itself was dismantled and removed, but some of the materials were recycled and used in other construction projects.
