Food Rocks epcotFood Rocks was a former attraction located in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT. It was a musical show that entertained guests with animated food characters and catchy songs, highlighting the importance of nutrition and healthy eating choices.

Food Rocks opened in 1994, replacing the previous attraction called Kitchen Kabaret. The show took place in a theater-style setting and featured a variety of audio-animatronic food characters that performed rock-style musical numbers.

The main character of Food Rocks was Fud Wrapper, a rock star who served as the host of the show. Fud Wrapper was accompanied by a band of animated food characters, each representing a different food group or type.

Throughout the show, each food character performed a musical number that emphasized the nutritional value and benefits of their respective food group. The songs were parodies of popular rock and pop tunes, with the lyrics modified to promote healthy eating habits.

The performances in Food Rocks included characters like The Egg Roll, who sang about the importance of calcium and strong bones, and The Cereal Sisters, who sang about the benefits of whole grains. Other characters included The Fiesta Fruit, The Dairy Goods, The Veggie, and more, each showcasing the nutritional aspects of their food group through lively and entertaining musical performances.

Food Rocks aimed to educate guests, particularly children, about the importance of a balanced diet and making healthy food choices. It blended educational content with humor and music, providing an engaging and memorable experience for guests of all ages.

The attraction closed in 2004 and was replaced by a new experience called “Soarin‘” which took guests on a simulated hang gliding adventure over iconic landscapes around the world.

While Food Rocks is no longer operational, its energetic performances and memorable songs are still fondly remembered by those who experienced it during its time at EPCOT. It served as a fun and educational attraction that emphasized the importance of nutrition and healthy eating in a creative and entertaining way.
