About Merlin's Magic Shop

Merlin’s Magic Shop was a retail establishment at Disneyland in California. It operated from the park’s opening in 1955 until 1983.

Merlin’s Magic Shop was located in Fantasyland, near the entrance of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The shop specialized in selling a variety of magic tricks, illusions, and novelty items. It offered a wide selection of magical merchandise, including magic wands, card tricks, disappearing acts, and other items to spark the imagination and delight guests of all ages.

The shop was named after the legendary wizard Merlin from Arthurian legends and served as a whimsical and enchanting destination for aspiring magicians and magic enthusiasts. It was a popular stop for guests who wanted to take home a piece of the magic they experienced at Disneyland.

However, in 1983, Merlin’s Magic Shop closed permanently, and the space was repurposed for other offerings. The shop was replaced by the Castle Heraldry Shop, which offered a variety of medieval-themed merchandise.
