Who is the Cheshire Cat?

The Cheshire Cat is a character from the Disney animated film “Alice in Wonderland” (1951). The character is based on the Cheshire Cat from Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” The Disney version of the Cheshire Cat is known for its mischievous grin, its ability to disappear and reappear at will, and its tendency to give riddles and obscure answers. The cat is voiced by Sterling Holloway in the film, and is known for its catchphrase “We’re all mad here.” The Cheshire Cat is also a regular character in Disney theme parks and other Disney productions, often depicted as a purple cat with a wide grin.
