Monsanto Hall of Chemistry | Disneyland

Last Updated on: March 26th, 2024

The Monsanto Hall of Chemistry was an attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim, California that was sponsored by the Monsanto Company. It was located in Tomorrowland and was one of the original attractions when the park opened in 1955.

The attraction was designed to showcase the various ways that chemistry and science were used in everyday life. It consisted of a series of interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and displays that highlighted the benefits of chemistry and how it affected various industries, such as agriculture, medicine, and manufacturing.

Some of the exhibits included a “fountain of foam” that demonstrated how foaming agents were used in products like shampoo and soap, a “molecule-making machine” that showed how chemical compounds were formed, and a “chemistry bar” that displayed various chemical elements and compounds.

The Monsanto Hall of Chemistry was updated several times over the years, including adding new exhibits and modernizing the technology used. However, it ultimately closed in 1966 to make way for the new attraction “Adventure Thru Inner Space.” Some elements of the attraction, such as the periodic table mural, were preserved and moved to other locations within the park.
