About Astro Jets

Astro Jets | DisneylandAstro Jets was a former attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The attraction opened in 1956 as part of Tomorrowland and was a spinning ride that allowed guests to pilot their own miniature rocket ship.

The ride consisted of several rocket ships that were mounted on the end of articulated arms, which were in turn mounted on a central column. The arms could be raised and lowered, allowing the rocket ships to fly higher or lower as they spun around.

Astro Jets was a popular attraction with guests and was considered a classic example of the types of spinning rides that were popular in amusement parks during the 1950s and 1960s.

While Astro Jets is no longer at Disneyland, its legacy lives on in other spinning rides throughout the park, including the classic “Mad Tea Party” and the newer “Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree” in Disney California Adventure.
