Series Description:
“The Muppets Mayhem” is a musical comedy series that premiered on Disney+ on May 10, 2023. The show centers on Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, the Muppets’ legendary house band, as they embark on a quest to record their first-ever studio album. Guiding them through the modern music industry is Nora, a junior A&R executive portrayed by Lilly Singh, who faces the challenge of managing the band’s eccentricities and unorthodox methods.
The series features the iconic band members: Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on bass, Janice on lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone, and Lips on trumpet. Their journey is filled with humorous misadventures and heartwarming moments, offering a fresh perspective on the beloved Muppet universe.
Developed by Adam F. Goldberg, Bill Barretta, and Jeff Yorkes, “The Muppets Mayhem” received generally positive reviews for its blend of nostalgia and contemporary storytelling. The soundtrack, featuring original music by Linda Perry, achieved notable success, topping the Billboard Kid Albums chart—the first Muppets album to do so.
Despite its acclaim, Disney+ announced in November 2023 that the series would not continue beyond its initial ten-episode season.
