King Triton’s Carousel was a classic carousel attraction located in Paradise Pier (now Pixar Pier) at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. The ride was inspired by the animated Disney movie, The Little Mermaid, and featured a variety of sea creatures as ride vehicles.
The carousel itself was housed in a grand, multi-story pavilion that was designed to resemble an undersea palace. The ride featured 22 ride vehicles, including seahorses, dolphins, whales, and other sea creatures, all of which were intricately carved and painted in bright, vibrant colors.
As riders circled around the carousel, they were treated to classic Disney music from The Little Mermaid soundtrack, as well as breathtaking views of the park’s other attractions and landmarks. The ride was a popular attraction among families and fans of The Little Mermaid, and remained a fixture at Disneyland Park until it was removed in 2018 as part of the park’s renovation and retheming of Paradise Pier to Pixar Pier.
Today, visitors can still experience a classic carousel ride at Disneyland Park on the King Arthur Carousel, located in Fantasyland. Although it doesn’t feature the undersea theming of King Triton’s Carousel, the ride is still a beloved attraction that harkens back to the park’s early days and Walt Disney’s love of carousels.
