Who is Baloo Bear?

Baloo is a fictional bear character from the Jungle Book stories written by Rudyard Kipling. He is a good-natured and easygoing bear who becomes the friend and mentor of the human child Mowgli. He is known for his laid-back attitude and his love of “the bare necessities” of life. In the 1967 Disney film adaptation of The Jungle Book, he was played by Phil Harris, who also played Thomas O’Malley in  The Aristocats and Little John in Robin Hood.
