Who is Rizzo the Rat?
Rizzo the Rat is a fictional character from the Jim Henson’s Muppet franchise. He is a wise-cracking, street-smart rat, who is a member of the Muppet cast of the television show “The Muppet Show” and also appeared in several Muppet movies, including “The Great Muppet Caper” and “The Muppets Take Manhattan.” He is known for his quick wit, sarcasm and his New York accent. He was performed by puppeteer Steve Whitmire and later by Eric Jacobson. He is also one of the main characters in the show “Muppet Babies” and other spin-off media.
