Flounder (The Little Mermaid)

Who is Flounder?
Flounder is a beloved character from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. He is Ariel’s best friend and sidekick, a bright yellow-and-blue tropical fish with a loyal, timid, and often cautious personality.
Despite his nervousness, He frequently accompanies Ariel on her daring adventures, offering support and encouragement even when he’s scared. His friendship with Ariel is one of the most endearing aspects of the film, as he always sticks by her side, even when it means facing his fears.
In the original 1989 animated The Little Mermaid film, Flounder was voiced by child actor Jason Marin. Marin’s voice performance helped bring the character’s youthful energy and nervous charm to life, making him a fan favorite among audiences.
In the 2023 live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, Flounder is voiced by Jacob Tremblay. Tremblay, known for his performances in films like Room and Wonder, brings a new dimension to the character while retaining Flounder’s essence as Ariel’s loyal companion.
