Who is Mal?
Mal is a character in the Disney Channel original movie “Descendants,” as well as its sequels and television series. She is the daughter of Maleficent, the infamous villain from Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty.”
Mal, played by Dove Cameron, is portrayed as a teenage girl who has grown up in the Isle of the Lost, a prison for the offspring of Disney’s most infamous villains. Despite her background, Mal is depicted as a good-natured and empathetic character, who is torn between her loyalty to her family and her desire to break free from their evil ways.
Throughout the film, Mal embarks on a journey of self-discovery and redemption, and learns to embrace her own unique strengths and abilities. Her transformation from villain to hero has made her a fan favorite among audiences, and her story has become a central part of the “Descendants” franchise.
