Who is Roo?
Roo is a cheerful and energetic young kangaroo from the Winnie the Pooh series by A.A. Milne. He is the son of Kanga and one of the closest friends of Winnie the Pooh and the other residents of the Hundred Acre Wood.
As the youngest of the group, Roo embodies innocence and curiosity, often seeking adventure and fun while learning valuable lessons along the way. His boundless enthusiasm and playful spirit bring a sense of wonder to the stories, and his close bond with his mother, Kanga, showcases a loving, nurturing relationship that contrasts with the often whimsical escapades of his friends.
Roo first appeared in Milne’s books Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Over the years, Roo has been a central character in Disney adaptations, including animated films, television series, and specials. In the Disney adaptations, Roo has been voiced by several actors. Notable voice actors include Clint Howard in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966), Dori Whitaker in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977), and Jimmy Bennett in Pooh’s Heffalump Movie (2005).
