With Disney World‘s iconic Cinderella Castle getting its own mega-LEGO set last year, it appears at least one fan wants to be sure its younger Disneyland Paris sibling, Sleeping Beauty Castle, gets a LEGO set as well, through the LEGO Ideas platform.

LEGO Ideas is an amazing platform that is constantly showing off the creativity of the LEGO community. In the past, I have told you about the It’s a Small World LEGO set, Toy Story Andy’s Room LEGO set and the Big Thunder Mountain LEGO set concepts.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle LEGO set concept is a much smaller set than the Cinderella Castle, but is still pretty cool and a nice start. Here is a brief description of the set from the creator:

Enjoy the experience of spending a day in the Disneyland Paris castle. My lego project is a detailed representation of the exceptional Disneyland Paris castle : this set contains a total of around 1000 lego pieces and 12 famous lego figures you can see on the first picture! You can also see the beautiful interior design of my castle. This project is based on many pictures I saw and it resembles a lot on the real castle in paris. The goal of this project is to create a magic disney collection : if you are at least 1000 supporters, I will create another set to complete this collection.

In case you aren’t familiar with the LEGO Ideas platform, here is the deal: A few years back, LEGO created the CUUSOO program (later renamed LEGO Ideas), which gave amateur set designers the ability to create new concepts and submit for actual retail consideration by LEGO. They are put to a fan vote and a number of great LEGO sets have been created because of the program. A set is considered for production if it receives 10,000 votes supporting it.

The LEGO Sleeping Beauty set currently has 46 supporters with 56 days left, so it is unlikely it will succeed in getting the votes it needs to move on. That said, if you want to see this set join the ranks of the Big Bang Theory, Ghostbusters, Minecraft and Back to the Future sets as LEGO Ideas-supported projects, be sure to head over to the project page and lend you support!.
