Who is Darth Vader?

Darth Vader, also known as Anakin Skywalker, is a central character in the Star Wars franchise. He is a former Jedi Knight who fell to the dark side of the Force and became a Sith Lord. Darth Vader serves as the main antagonist of the original Star Wars trilogy and is one of the most iconic and recognizable villains in popular culture. He is depicted as being a powerful and fearsome warrior, with a distinctive suit and helmet that conceal his scarred face and burned body. Darth Vader is eventually redeemed in the original trilogy and returns to the light side of the Force, ultimately sacrificing himself to save his son, Luke Skywalker. Darth Vader is portrayed by actor David Prowse, with voice work by James Earl Jones, in the original trilogy and by Hayden Christensen in the prequel trilogy.
