Who is Gonzo?
Gonzo, also known as The Great Gonzo or Gonzo the Great, is a fictional character and one of the main characters in the Muppets franchise created by Jim Henson.
Gonzo is an odd-looking puppet, with a long nose, and blue fur, and is known for his eccentric and peculiar behavior. He is a performer and entertainer and is often seen performing dangerous stunts and acts, such as diving from a high platform into a tiny pool of water, or riding a unicycle on a tightrope. He is also known for his eccentric personality, his love for chickens, and his catchphrase “I’m ready for my close-up” He also has a strong relationship with Camilla the Chicken.
Gonzo has been a regular performer on The Muppet Show, and Muppet movies and television shows. He was originally voiced by puppeteer Dave Goelz.
