Destination D23 Day 2 Recap: Castle Colors, Frozen Paris & Villains Land Updates
Published on 8/31/25 by Craig Smith
Day two of Destination D23 wrapped up in Orlando, and while the announcements were fewer compared to yesterday, they delivered some key updates Disney fans have been waiting for.

At Walt Disney World, Cinderella Castle is set to return to a look much closer to its original color palette. The current pink tones will be phased out in favor of the classic shimmering blue rooftops, soft gray stonework, and warm golden accents. The refresh is expected to begin soon, restoring the castle’s timeless fairytale appearance.

Across the Atlantic, Disneyland Paris revealed the opening timeframe for its long-awaited World of Frozen. The immersive land will debut in summer 2026, bringing Arendelle Castle to life along with Frozen Ever After, themed dining, and opportunities to meet Anna and Elsa. This marks one of the most ambitious expansions yet for the Paris resort.

Finally, Disney shared new details on the highly anticipated Villains-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom. Designers discussed the architectural inspirations behind the project, including gothic cathedrals, dark forests, and fantasy castles. While no opening date has been announced, the concept art and design approach hint at an atmospheric new realm unlike anything currently in the park.
