Published on 10/25/25 by Craig Smith

It’s been another big week at Walt Disney World, with announcements stretching from EPCOT to Animal Kingdom and beyond. From new fireworks and festivals to construction and culinary shake-ups, here’s everything you need to know.

Soarin’ Across America Takes Flight at EPCOT in 2026

Disney confirmed that a new version of the beloved Soarin’ attraction – Soarin’ Across America – will debut at EPCOT in 2026. The refreshed film will highlight sweeping aerial views of U.S. landmarks, natural wonders, and cultural icons, serving as a centerpiece for Disney’s upcoming “Celebrate America” campaign.

This will be the first major update to Soarin’ since Soarin’ Around the World premiered in 2016, replacing the original Soarin’ Over California. The new edition will tie into the 250th anniversary of the United States, providing a patriotic reimagining for one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions. Guests can expect new visuals, updated scents, and a re-recorded score – likely with a few nostalgic callbacks to the original.

Fourth of July Fireworks Expand to Three Nights in 2026

For the first time in Disney World history, the Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky fireworks spectacular will span three nights: July 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2026.

This expansion commemorates America’s 250th birthday, giving more guests the chance to enjoy the patriotic display without the crushing single-day crowds of past years. The event will also feature extended park hours, themed treats, and exclusive merchandise.

Magic Kingdom’s skies will light up for three consecutive nights of red, white, and blue brilliance – making it one of the most ambitious Independence Day celebrations Disney has ever staged.

Harambe Market Closes for Refurbishment and Menu Overhaul

Over in Animal Kingdom, Harambe Market has temporarily closed for a full refurbishment and menu overhaul. When it reopens in early 2026, guests can expect a shift toward more familiar fare such as burgers, chicken, and hot dogs.

While the location isn’t directly part of the new Tropical Americas expansion on the opposite side of the park, it’s indirectly connected to the project. With Restaurantosaurus expected to receive its own major reimagining, Harambe Market will inherit some of its popular offerings to help balance the park’s quick-service options.

The refreshed menu will give Harambe Market a broader appeal while maintaining its signature open-air design and marketplace charm.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Open to All Guests

This holiday season brings a major change to Magic Kingdom’s nighttime entertainment lineup. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, previously exclusive to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, will now be available to all park guests throughout the holiday season.

Hosted by Minnie Mouse, the show combines projection mapping, dazzling fireworks, and a festive soundtrack that includes Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime.”

For guests visiting in November and December, this means more holiday value without the need for an extra event ticket – though it also means bigger crowds, so early viewing reservations are highly recommended.

EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts Returns January 16, 2026

EPCOT’s popular International Festival of the Arts will return from January 16 through February 23, 2026. This fan-favorite festival celebrates creativity through interactive art displays, gourmet food studios, and nightly Disney on Broadway performances included with park admission.

The 2026 edition promises more food booths than ever before, new artistic workshops, and expanded concert seating. Since debuting in 2017, the Festival of the Arts has grown into one of EPCOT’s signature seasonal events, offering a vibrant kickoff to each new Disney year.

Animation Courtyard Transformation Officially Underway

At Hollywood Studios, the long-awaited reimagining of Animation Courtyard is officially in motion. The park’s original entrance arch and Launch Bay signage have been completely removed, marking a major step forward in the area’s transformation.

Disney has confirmed that the courtyard will become a new hub dedicated to Walt Disney Animation Studios, featuring fresh character meet-and-greets, interactive exhibits, and storytelling spaces inspired by Disney’s animated classics.

This shift reflects the park’s evolution away from its movie studio roots – first opened as Disney-MGM Studios in 1989 – toward immersive storytelling and themed experiences that connect directly to Disney’s biggest film franchises.

Full Character Line-Up Announced for Disney’s Jollywood Nights

The festive season at Hollywood Studios just got even more star-studded. Disney has revealed the full character lineup for this year’s Jollywood Nights event, featuring returning favorites like Kermit and Miss Piggy, Phineas and Ferb, and the Three Caballeros.

New additions this year include Mirabel from Encanto and Hercules and Meg from Hercules, adding even more variety to the glamorous Hollywood holiday party. With live entertainment, specialty treats, and themed photo ops, this year’s Jollywood Nights promises to be the most spectacular yet.

Final Thoughts

From EPCOT’s new aerial adventure to Animal Kingdom’s evolving food scene and Hollywood Studios’ major transformation, Disney continues to reshape the guest experience in exciting ways. Whether you’re visiting for the holidays or planning ahead for 2026, it’s clear that the parks are preparing for a milestone year filled with change, nostalgia, and new magic around every corner.
