Disney has officially set May 26, 2026 as the opening date for Soarin’ Across America at EPCOT, giving guests a firm debut date for the attraction’s limited-time stateside flight experience. The date marks a more precise update after Disney had previously said the new version of Soarin’ would arrive for summer 2026 and around Memorial Day weekend.

Soarin across america open date

The confirmation is significant because Soarin’ Across America is one of the more notable seasonal additions Disney has planned for EPCOT this year. Rather than a small overlay or minor update, Disney is reworking the Soarin’ experience to focus entirely on the United States as part of its broader “Disney Celebrates America” effort tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary. Official descriptions say the attraction will take guests on an airborne journey “from sea to shining sea,” featuring both natural landmarks and recognizable cityscapes.

Disney has also made clear that this is not a permanent replacement for Soarin’ Around the World. On Walt Disney World’s official ride listings, Soarin’ Around the World is currently advertised as operating through May 13, 2026, while Soarin’ Across America is listed separately with a May 26 opening date. That gap suggests EPCOT will use the intervening days to complete the switchover before the new version begins welcoming riders later in the month.

The timing also lines up with Disney World’s broader summer campaign. Disney Parks Blog and Walt Disney World’s official summer pages both place Soarin’ Across America among the headlining offerings beginning May 26, the same day Disney launches its “Cool KIDS’ SUMMER” programming across the resort. Even though Soarin’ is not specifically a kids-only attraction, its placement in that larger promotional rollout shows Disney sees the reimagined flight experience as one of EPCOT’s marquee draws for the season.

In terms of what guests can expect, Disney has said the attraction will include a new musical arrangement of the familiar Soarin’ theme along with signature scent effects that have become a defining part of the ride system. Walt Disney Imagineering previously said it filmed more than a dozen locations for the project, pointing to a fairly broad visual sweep rather than a small collection of repeat scenes. That could help distinguish this version from earlier Soarin’ updates by making it feel like a fresh travelogue built specifically for the anniversary celebration.

The attraction’s limited-time status is also worth noting. Disney has described Soarin’ Across America as a temporary offering, which likely gives it extra appeal for frequent Walt Disney World visitors who may want to catch it before it eventually rotates out. Disney has not yet publicly announced an end date for the EPCOT run, so for now the main confirmed detail is the May 26 start.

For EPCOT, the announcement adds another defined milestone to a 2026 lineup that already includes several high-profile changes around Walt Disney World. It also gives World Nature a timely boost at the start of summer, when the park typically benefits from attractions that appeal to a wide age range and offer an indoor break from Central Florida heat. Soarin’ has long been one of EPCOT’s most popular rides, and a refreshed version built around American landscapes gives Disney a recognizable headline addition without having to introduce an entirely new attraction.

For guests planning spring trips, the update comes with one small catch: Soarin’ Around the World is scheduled to end on May 13, while Soarin’ Across America does not begin until May 26. But for anyone visiting after that date, Disney has now made it official. Starting May 26, EPCOT guests will be able to trade the current globe-spanning itinerary for a new flight across the United States, timed to one of the biggest patriotic milestones on the 2026 calendar.
