espn president cnn zuckerThe departure of ESPN President John Skipper in December grabbed headlines because of his profile and shocking nature of his resignation. Since then, though, there has been very little news coming out of Bristol, Connecticut about who would be replacing Skipper as ESPN chief. Now comes a report in Deadline that Skipper’s replacement may be one the most high-profile executives in the industry: CNN’s Jeff Zucker.

Zucker has a long history in the entertainment industry having served as President of NBC and CEO of NBCUniversal prior to joining CNN.

Deadline also mentions ESPN executive vice presidents Connor Schell and Justin Connolly, Consumer Products and Interactive Media Chairman James Pitaro and Turner president David Levy as other potential replacements.
