There’s a New Muppet Show at the Magic Kingdom. What You Need to Know.

Update 10/8/16: Disney’s new Muppet show at the Magic Kingdom, titled “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History,” has officially made its debut. Here is a quick synopsis of the show from the Disney Parks blog:

In the show, Sam Eagle, the always patriotic American eagle, joins Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, town crier of Liberty Square, outside The Hall of Presidents. There, they retell tales from American history in humorous Muppets fashion – such as the midnight ride of Paul Revere and the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Update 9/23/16: Disney announced today via their Parks Blog that the “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” Muppet show will debut on October 2nd at the Magic Kingdom in Liberty Square. One note from the post is they say it will “take place several times daily, just outside The Hall of Presidents.” Until now, we had been lead to believe that the show would take place above The Hall of Presidents. I’ll be posting more about this as soon as the show’s exact location is clear.

Original Post 8/5/16: Disney has announced that there will be a new live Muppet show coming to the Magic Kingdom this Fall. The new show, titled “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” will take place above the Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square. The show will open in October.

Here is a quick synopsis of the new Muppet show from the Disney press release:

“Sam Eagle, the fiercely patriotic American eagle who is forever trying to set a high moral standard for the Muppets, will join Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, town crier of Liberty Square, as they gather outside The Hall of Presidents to present historical tales in hysterical Muppets fashion. From the midnight ride of Paul Revere to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Muppets will appear throughout the day to share their own unique take on the founding fathers and the birth of the United States of America.

“The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” will be presented multiple times daily and will feature an original song and wacky Muppets humor.”
