Who is Tigger?
Tigger is one of the most beloved characters from Disney’s adaptations of A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh stories.
Known for his exuberant personality, boundless energy, and trademark bouncy tail, Tigger is often the life of the party in the Hundred Acre Wood. He has a catchphrase, “The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things!” and is defined by his playful, optimistic, and slightly mischievous nature. While his boundless enthusiasm can sometimes get him into trouble, Tigger’s heart is always in the right place, and he’s fiercely loyal to his friends, including Pooh, Piglet, and Roo, with whom he shares a special bond.
Tigger made his first Disney appearance in the 1968 short Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, which was later incorporated into the feature The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977).
Paul Winchell was the original voice of Tigger, bringing the character’s vibrant and bouncy personality to life from 1968 until 1999. Winchell’s portrayal defined Tigger’s iconic voice and mannerisms. In later years, Jim Cummings took over the role, maintaining the character’s legacy and charm in subsequent films, television series, and other media appearances, ensuring Tigger remains a timeless figure in Disney’s roster of animated icons.
