Contraption

Last Updated on: March 4th, 2023

Contraption was a children’s television game show that aired on the Disney Channel in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The show featured two teams of kids who competed against each other to build elaborate Rube Goldberg-style contraptions.

The contraptions were designed to perform a specific task, such as opening an umbrella or popping a balloon. The teams had to use their creativity and problem-solving skills to build the contraptions using everyday objects like rubber bands, marbles, and dominos. Once the contraptions were built, they were put to the test, and the team whose contraption performed the task the fastest won the game.

Contraption was hosted by former NBA player Bill Walton and featured a panel of celebrity judges who provided commentary on the teams’ progress. The show was popular with children and helped promote an interest in science, engineering, and technology.
