Fort Wilderness was a former attraction at Disneyland in California. It operated from 1956 to 2000 and was located in Frontierland.
Fort Wilderness was designed to resemble a frontier fort, evoking the spirit of the American West during the pioneer era. The attraction featured a large wooden stockade surrounded by log walls, with various frontier-themed elements and activities inside.
Guests could explore the fort, walk along its walls, and experience a glimpse into the daily life of a frontier outpost. There were displays of weapons, tools, and other artifacts, showcasing the equipment and necessities of the era.
Additionally, Fort Wilderness offered interactive experiences such as shooting galleries, where guests could test their aim with replica rifles, and other frontier-themed activities.
However, in 2000, Fort Wilderness was permanently closed and dismantled to make way for the expansion of other attractions and experiences within Frontierland.
