Disney World Announces Major Updates Coming in 2026 — Here’s Everything We Know

Walt Disney World has officially unveiled a lineup of major updates arriving throughout 2026, giving fans and future vacation planners a clearer look at what’s ahead for the resort. The announcements include refreshed attractions, returning experiences, new character offerings, and updates across multiple parks. One of EPCOT’s most popular rides, Frozen Ever After, will receive upgraded audio-animatronics in February. Disney has confirmed that the enhancements will improve character movement, show scenes, and visual quality, bringing the ride closer to the standards of newer attractions.

Over in Magic Kingdom, two major refurbishments finally reach the finish line in the spring. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reopen after an extended closure that focused on show effects, track work, and enhancements designed to modernize the guest experience while preserving the attraction’s classic charm. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will also return with refreshed tech and updated show elements aimed at giving the ride a more polished look and feel.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, families have a brand-new experience to look forward to as Bluey makes her way to the park in summer 2026. The offering will include meet-and-greets and interactive elements inspired by the hit preschool series.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reintroduce The Magic of Disney Animation in a reimagined format next summer, giving guests a fresh look at how animated stories are created. It’s expected to blend traditional Disney animation history with modern techniques and interactive exhibits.

One of the biggest changes comes to Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, which will close in the spring and reopen in the summer as Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. While Disney hasn’t released full storyline details yet, the attraction will reportedly feature new theming and updated show moments featuring the iconic Muppet characters.

Finally, EPCOT fans can enjoy the return of Soarin’ Across America beginning Memorial Day 2026, giving guests another chance to experience the fan-favorite version of the ride.
