Last night’s 90th Academy Awards event saw Disney Pixar’s Coco take both of the Oscars the hit animated film was nominated for. Coco won Oscars for Best Animated Feature as well as Best Original Song, for its theme song ‘Remember Me.’
The Best Animated Feature film win was Pixar’s ninth and Disney’s 12th overall since the award was introduced in 2001. Past recipients include Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, Toy Story 3, Brave, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Inside Out and Zootopia.
For the animated top spot, Coco beat out a decent field that included The Boss Baby, The Breadwinner, Ferdinand and Loving Vincent.
For Best Original Song, Coco beat out a strong field that included “Mystery of Love” from Call Me by Your Name, “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman, “Stand Up for Something” from Marshall and “Mighty River” from Mudbound.
